The Apparition

The Apparition is a new horror movie starring Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan, and the amazing Tom Felton. The film follows Kelly (Greene) and Ben (Stan), as they move into a new home together. From the very first day, strange things begin happening, unexplainable things like out of control mold, bent hangers, and broken cameras. Kelly and Ben are out of their minds with fear, and they soon learn that you can’t keep out what you let in.

Let me be the first to tell you, if you’re watching this movie to see Tom Felton, like I was, you are going to be severely disappointed. His total screen time was 20 minutes at the most. Every time he appeared on screen, I got all giddy inside, and then he would be gone minutes later. I know this isn’t the first movie that has advertised a big name actor, and then disappointed, but this one hit me the hardest. But, Tom Felton’s acting was superb, and he played such an adorable geek.

Ashley Greene is a Kristen Stewart look-a-like with a glowing personality and perfect skin. She is known for her role as Alice in the Twilight saga, but I think she did an even better job as Kelly. She played well off of Sebastian Stan, who played her character’s boyfriend. The two seemed like a real couple, and their acting together was terrific.

The Apparition was just okay. As far as horror movies go, it was one of the better ones that came out this year. It wasn’t very suspenseful and didn’t have any in your face horror. I would recommend this film to fans of movies like Chernobyl Diaries and The Possession.
