Act of Valor

Act of Valor is a new war movie that follows an elite group of soldiers as they go on a special mission to rescue a kidnapped agent.

The film has actual Navy Seals as actors. I never quite figured out if the lead actors were Navy Seals, or if the Navy Seals were just the men in the background, but either way, it made me want to love this movie. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t. I wanted so badly to just be amazed by it and recommend it to everyone, but I didn’t enjoy it at all. I have never been a fan of war movies, but I thought this one was particularly bad. The plot was subpar, and I really didn’t understand or follow much of what was going on. Perhaps, people who are bigger fans of war type films will get more out of this film, but it just didn’t do anything for me.

I will admit that it had a lot of action and a decent underlying story with great character development, but it just didn’t hold my attention.

I’d recommend anyone who is a fan of war movies like Jarhead and Saving Private Ryan give this movie a shot so the rest of us can find out if it does have true potential.
