Lovely Molly

Lovely Molly is a twisted new horror film that will have you gasping in disbelief. The film follows Molly and her husband, Tim as they move into Molly’s childhood home. Viewers are immediately introduced to Molly’s troubled past, including her struggle with addiction. When strange things start happening, Tim contributes it to Molly’s addiction and wants to get help. Molly insists that she isn’t using and there is something wrong with the house, but which one is telling the truth?

As far as horror films go, it was certainly not the scariest I have ever seen, but it was the creepiest. There were so many parts of the movie that made me wonder how one character could be so crazy, but Lovely Molly did it. The movie made crazy seem crazy, and I applaud it for that. It did what very few movies are able to do: creep me out.

The movie had no noteworthy actors, but they all performed very well. Gretchen Lodge, the actress who played Molly, did her character justice. She was wild, eerie, and above all else, believable. It is hard to make an insane character believably insane, but Lodge did it and did it well.

Lovely Molly was terrifying in a brand new way. I recommend it to everyone who enjoys intelligent horror films like Silent House and Three.
