Children of the Corn

Children of the Corn is a 1984 horror film, based on the short story by Stephen King of the same name. The film follows a couple, Burt and Vicky, as they drive across the country, to get to Burt’s new job in Washington.

When the couple reaches the state of Nebraska, they find that the roads they are driving through are empty and dull, aside from the rows of corn beside them. Tragedy soon strikes when the couple hits a small boy with their car killing him. Burt soon discovers that the boy, in fact, was dead before he had been hit, and the couple decides they need to talk to the authorities

With no cities in sight, they attempt to find a small town so they notify the police. Their journey leads them to Gatlin, Nebraska, very small town that appears to be deserted. The couple soon finds that the town is inhabited only by children, with strange beliefs and an unusual form of worship.

Burt and Vicky must fight to protect themselves from the children and “The Man Behinds the Rows”.

The film stars Peter Horton and Linda Hamilton, as Burt and Vicky, who did an exceptional job. John Franklin plays Isaac, the young leader of the children, and Courtney Gains plays Malachi, Isaac’s henchman.

This film is a must-see for those who already haven’t. It has an exceptional plot that will keep you hooked from the beginning, and moves at a quick enough pace to hold the attention of almost anyone.
