Coach Carter

Coach Carter is a film that focuses on the life of teenagers who live on the streets and their struggles with school, family and social society. It is a film that revolves around the lives of real people and their problems with their place in life.

There are many characters that play various lives onscreen. One whose father serves his time in jail, another whose girlfriend is pregnant with his child and some having difficulty with their studies in class. But all are connected through one thing – their love for basketball.

The movie is composed with different viewpoints in life but there was only one that stood out for me and that is the viewpoint of Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Coach Carter in the movie. Both his acting skills and attitude brought forth a convincing role in the movie that stuns me and my friends in school. His role was entirely different from other movies as he plays the strong, determined second-father to his players. His morals were just like any father who just wants their kids to be successful in life and stay away from prison.

There were several plots in the movie that fit perfectly together because they all focus on life itself. The flow of the scenes and the transfer from one teenager’s point of view to another was raw but nevertheless flawless at the same time. I say the director and the crew did a good job on that one.

It is never boring to watch a biography film that is filled with hope and strength. I do suggest all viewers to watch this movie and be amazed by how beautiful life can be.
