300

300 The movie is based on Frank Miller's graphic novel "300" which is also the movie title. I have never read the comic book, but I have read reviews on it before and even though the movie is based on the comic book, the movie has added some features.

It starts off in 480 B.C. Sparta, Greece with the Persian King Xerxes, (Rodrigo Santoro) wanting to take control of the Greek city-states making the people his slaves, and the Sparta King consults the local oracle to going to War to stop the Persian King from making his nation apart of his empire. The oracle gives him two results: A spartan king will be sacrificed, or Sparta will be burn to the ground. And that's when the War starts.

In the Battle of Thermopylae, which mean"hot gates." King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his 300 of the finest Spartans warriors are at War. With its high tech and visual arts, the movie is a must see. The movie shows what happened during the two-three day battle between the Spartans and the Persians. King Leonidas and his 300 men showed that anything is possible if you stick together. It was few against many and they stood strong and tall through thick and thin.

The battle that was fought was one of the most outnumbered in history the Greeks handed it to the Persians, they fought for what was right, and for their country when no one else would or even tried. They were ready to die for Greece because they knew it was right. The Spartans may have lost the battle, but they won the War.

300 is a powerful and breath taking movie and I hope everyone who watches it, watches it with an open mind and learn something from it. When I was watching it, it reminded me of his other movie Sin City and the feel was the same. Frank Miller graphics are beautiful on screen.
