Shadow People

Lately I've been watching many horror movies thanks to my best friend and this is one of them. Matthew Arnold's Shadow People got me thinking if what we had just watched for around two hours was true or not.

Back in 1970 an experimental sleep study reported seeing strange shadowy figures. They, and other people as well died mysteriously in their sleep soon after. The phenomenon was named "Sudden Unexplained Nocturnal Death Syndrome." The tape of the experiment was buried in someone's grave and hidden from the world because it was a threat to mankind as the professor believed.

After many years, the radio talk show host Charlie Crowe starts getting calls from a teenage boy who says shadowy figures want to kill him. The radio host believes the kid needs help because he is mentally ill so he doesn't take him seriously. When the boy dies in his sleep and people who listen to the radio station start to die as well, Charlie starts to believe it can't be a coincidence.

After finding proofs, Charlie gets nightmares as well and he thinks the shadows are watching him. Then he speaks his mind on the talk show live on air and people are calling, saying they agree with him and telling him what they had seen.

"We all wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air, feeling like something is sitting on us, or thinking we're being watched. Is it just our imagination or could it be the shadow people?" is what Charlie said to everyone who hears his radio talk show.

After Charlie and Dr. Sophie Lacombe research the phenomenon and find the hidden tape inside the professor's grave, Charlie is afraid and he believes he has to show it to the whole world so that they can find ways to protect themselves from the shadowy people. After watching the experiment tape with the sleep paralysis and how the people died, the question, "How do you stop thinking about something?" dances around on his mind driving him almost crazy.

Shadow People is a documentary type of film and it's based on true events. The characters are well developed and the movie is totally realistic. Also, there is no gore in this movie but it's a plus for the type of movie this is. I think we are all a little sick of watching unnecessary gore in movies. And even though this movie has no gore, it will leave a great impression on your mind and it will made you think if what you actually saw was true or not.

If you want to see a movie that will make you even question your dreams, I suggest you watch this one. It's totally worth your time.
