Devil's Due

This is one of those movies that is filmed from solely security cameras and a handheld type of camera. Therefore if you're like me you'll have a headache the whole time and you'll also be a tad nauseas. I was a bit uneasy seeing the movie for this sole reason but alas, with the persuasion of my friend I went to see this instead of Anchorman 2 and I deeply, deeply regret it.

It starts off with a creeper shot of a girl at some party for her wedding and then said creeper climbs into the house from and scares the girl--oh it's her fiance. Thank god for that! They get married they go to San Domingo for the wedding and everything is fine and dandy until they go to a fortune teller. Said fortune teller tells the bride that she is 'born from death' and 'they've been waiting for you'. Naturally, this freaks out the bride, they leave and conveniently get lost and oh, a taxi driver comes to pick them up. This couple is idiotic enough to let this shady taxi driver take them to this even shadier club in a shady neighborhood under a shady building where they proceed to get drunk and then someone performs a ritual on the bride and oh look, she is pregnant.

With the AntiChrist.

The rest of the movie is basically her doing typical pregnant lady things. Like mood swings (punching the windows out of someone's vehicle because they almost ran her over), weird cravings(raw meat), bad sleeping patterns(sleep...carving symbols on the floor of the nursery). You know. Normal pregnant lady stuff.

Honestly the storyline itself was very much lacking. It had some pretty cool special effects such as the freakish stretching of the woman's belly (her name escapes me). Then the birth scene was pretty well done. But all in all it left me with a lot of questions. My first question was how do they choose the women to impregnate with the AntiChrist but then it occured to me the whole 'born of death' thing. The mother had to be cut from the womb and I'm going to just guess that's why. But why exactly is this group trying to birth AntiChrist's? What are they doing with the AntiChrist's? All we see is the back of the actual AntiChrist's normal baby, glowing head and then that's it. That's all we get.

At the end of the movie you know they're at it again because they happen to show up in Paris to find yet another honeymooning couple. But seriously. Why? Why are you birthing baby AntiChrist's? What are you doing with them?

I was not happy with this movie, that's all I've got to say.
