Over Her Dead Body

Over Her Dead Body With cheap chick flicks being spewed into theaters nowadays, reminiscent of other the cliche romantic movies that came before them, it seems hard to find one that is truly worth watching and at the same time, never been done.

Suffice to say, Over Her Dead Body is a gem among them.

It starts off with the abrupt death of soon-to-be-bride Kate (Eva Longoria Parker) on her wedding day, when she is crushed by an ice-sculpted 'angel' that would have been the centerpiece of their reception. When she dies, she is sent to a white room in the middle of nowhere, but her constant doubt and chatter frustrates the angel that was supposed to 'orient' her on her unfinished business, and she is left without a clue.

Fast-forward to a year later, when the sister of her fiance Henry (Paul Rudd) takes him to see a psychic named Ashley (Lake Bell), so he can make contact with Kate's spirit in order for him to move on. But despite his skepticism of whatever supernatural abilities she might have, the two start to fall for each other, overlooking the slight detail that Ashley is being haunted by Kate's ghost, who is convinced she was sent back to protect Henry from women throwing themselves at him.

In the end, Ashley and Henry's budding romance is torn apart, but Kate suddenly sees that it may not be what's good for Henry after all. Eventually, she comes to terms with the fact that she only wants Henry to be happy, even if it's not with her.

Over Her Dead Body is filled with laughter-filled moments, but its lighthearted, romantic feel does not disrupt the film's message of real people, real emotions, and real realizations and delivers what its audience must have been craving for.
