Death Note

Death Note is the story of Light Yagami who one day after class finds a book with the words 'Death Note' written on the front and a set of instructions on the inside cover. After he's touched the book, and any human who comes into contact with it can see the owner of the death note, a Shinigami (God of death).

After Testing out the note book following the instructions, he is forced to believe that the Death note is real and it really does possess killing powers. A few days after receiving the Death note, he is traced by the Shinigami who owns the death note, Ryuk.

As Light continues using the Death Note with the help of Ryuk, the Japanese police catch on that there is something after quite a number of criminals die. With the help of 'L', a mysterious character who for the first few episodes has a hidden identity later know as Ryuuzaki, the police start to work on their latest case.

People all round Japan have started killing this mysterious killer 'Kira' and help Light get into his head the thought of creating a 'New world' without crime or any wrong doings. He uses information from his fathers computer to access Police data and find the names and faces of more criminals.

As the series progresses, Ryuuzaki/ 'L' invite Light to help with the 'Kira investigation', as he's helped with cases in the past, but how long till the police find out who 'Kira' really is? And will it even be Ryuuzaki that finds him?

Within the 37 anime episodes, they find everyone's dark sides and discover the secrets behind the Death Note, including betrayal, murder and unreturned love. Will Light ever create the Perfect new world?
