NCIS

NCIS Tony: Six letter word for a reason to commit a crime.
Gibbs: DiNozzo...
Tony: That's seven letters.
Gibbs: Still works for me.

That sweet gingerly talk or a joke or whatever you might call it, probably won’t make you burst into laughter unless you’re a fan of NCIS. It’s just one of too many hilarious remarks that the NCIS agents satisfy our thirst for laughter with. Daily.

Aside the laughter, the gist of the show comes down to this introduction - NCIS, short for Naval Criminal Investigative Service, follows the professional lives of the characters, the special agents. No, they don’t travel the time to fight the past; no, they don’t have magic wands, no, they can’t make you read Harry Potter in one breath but they can make you laugh. Aside the laughter once again, they repeatedly hit the top arresting corrupted marines, finding some missing in action petty officer, tracking down and putting murderers behind the bars.

Even though the accent in not on their private lives, through those premeditated jokes and simple talk that sound so appealing, we get the full picture, emphasizing their personal preferences and desires.

The show premiered 4 years ago, on September 23, 2003. Mister Donald Bellisario, the guy meritorious for the show’s release has a successful career behind - Magnum, P.I., Tales of the Gold Monkey, Airwolf, Quantum Leap, JAG.

The NCIS crew decorates its supervisor - Special Agent whose mom has played with his name - Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon). Cold and furious looking, he bursts with cynism, hiding his warmth and sensitivity inside. Besides being married three times, one of his most notable quirks is smacking Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly); a senior investigator and also a former homicide detective.

Gibbs's formal looking character, lacking in smile is always well portrayed, demanding high standards and discipline. Deeply mysterious yet humorous, he builds a boat in his basement - cherishing that time and using it for penetrating into criminals’ minds.

[Gibbs, who's been divorced three times, is building a boat]
Agent Caitlin Todd: Do all Marines build boats?
Tony: Just the ones that have been married a few times.
Agent Caitlin Todd: Why's that?
Tony: The other ones can afford to buy one.

Tony DiNozzo is an insightful investigator - showing his skills when needed. On the other hand, he’s an immature figure, spending every second of his spare time lurking for women. The way he does it and the way he gets rejected all the time, makes him even more special and lovable character. Enjoying the moments of mocking Gibbs, his childish side gets unveiled. A movie lover, he indulges himself in the kind of quoting his favorite shows and films which are Magnum P.I. and Airwolf and also impersonating the cinematography legends - James Bond and Sean Connery. Even though he’s joking most of the time, his swaggering manners towards McGee annoy the latter.

DiNozzo: [spelling his name on the phone] DiNozzo. Big "D", little "I", big "N", little "ozzo".

Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) seems to always be smartly dressed, showing off his incredible computer skills. Shy, seemingly sloppy, he does as he’s being told. Beside nervous McGee and women addict DiNozzo, Gibbs’s crew bifurcates in 3 more regular characters - Ziva David (Cote de Pablo); replacing the deceased agent Caitlin Todd; Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard M.D., M.E. (David McCallum), the chief medical examiner usually ends up talking to his dead ‘patients’; Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette); a forensic scientist dressed up in Gothic style, is a Caf-Paw addict and the only character Gibbs shows affection to.

However, this show won’t disappoint you if you crave suspense, a dose of first class humor, everlasting banter and highly developed and original characters; the boys and girls next door look alikes.

Gibbs: ID withheld...
Tony: Probably the reason you married her. I mean, she probably hid her real personality as most women do, and by that time it was too late because you'd already... I'm gonna shut up now.
Gibbs: Now?
