Showtime: The Tudors Reign In The Years Of 2007-2010!

Showtime: The Tudors Reign In The Years Of 2007-2010! For those of you who enjoy history themed flicks, I recommend The Tudor's series. Since its first debut in April 1st 2007, it's assured to say that The Tudors was the most highest rated series, Showtime has had in years.

The plot takes place back in the 1500's in England, where King Henry VIII's reign began. Having handsome youth and a vast rule over the kingdom, King Henry VIII, in this series, is looked as sexy and very powerful. When the young king of England receives his rightful crown in the year of 1509, boundaries are of no existence to this young ruler.

Married to Queen Catherine of Aragon, King Henry VIII has several affairs with many women, his thirst for intimacy almost seems unquenchable in this series. But when he meets young Anne Boleyn, he falls in "love" with her and begins his affairs with the young lady. And although many of the King's kin had advised him against it, he desired annulment of his marriage to Queen Catherine. Everything becomes disastrous to the catholic church of whom are outraged of the King's request of annulment. This can only get even more interesting.

This series is very seductive in its ways, and regardless of the intimate scenes it contains, to my view I learned a little more of how the ways of those times were very complicated. And the series's background gives you a better idea of how those years in the 1500's were and of how it affected everyone.

This awesome series has received many a good criticism and is hopefully to continue on until the ending. According to sources, Showtime announced in April 13, 2009 that the series was to be renewed for a fourth and maybe final season. The network has ordered ten episodes of this series that are also scheduled to air in the spring of the year 2010.

The cast include:

  • Jonathan Rhys Meyers - as King Henry VIII
  • Henry Cavill - as Charles Brandon, the duke of Suffolk
  • Sam Neill - as Thomas Cardinal Wosley
  • Callum Blue - as Sir Anthony Knivert
  • Henry Czerny - as Thomas Howard, the duke of Norfolk
  • Natalie Dormer - as Anne Boleyn
  • Maria Doyle Kennedy - as Queen Katherine of Aragon

and many more...

The Tudors series is also available on DVD, so if you are ever interested in checking it out, you can find it on DVD. This series gives a whole new look to King Henry VIII, and many find that to be even more intriguing.

And just to give fair warning, this series is obviously not for the eyes of children, for it has various scenes of nudity and such. Parental Discretion is Advised.
