The IT Crowd

The IT Crowd The IT Crowd, written by Graham Linehan, who also wrote Black Books and Father Ted, is a hilarious UK comedy. Similar to The Office, The IT Crowd follows the lives of Roy, Moss and Jen at work. Al three of them work for Renholm Industries, in the IT department.

In the first episode you meet Jen (Katherine Parkinson), who is being interviewed by Denholm Renholm (Chris Morris). Apparently, on her CV, Jen said that she had a lot of experience with computers. When Denholm interrogates her about her knowledge of IT, she says the first things that come to her mind.

"Uh, Emails, writing emails, sending emails, receiving emails, erm, deleting emails. The key board, using mouses, no, Mice. Monitor, The bit that goes on the floor down there"

Amazingly, Denholm buys it, and sticks her in charge of the IT department. As Jen makes her way down the to basement, she notices all the nice areas of the company, but the basement turns out to be a shameful mess. With the elevator spouting "Get out of the lift. Get out of the lift," she begins her new job as Relationship Manager of the IT department.

Roy and Moss are the IT workers. Roy being an under-sexed workaholic. He has tried to woo many women in Renholm Industries in his day. Moss is a nerd, who knows far too much about computers, and finds the way people wire circuit boards incorrectly hilarious.

Roy and Moss are highly offended when Denholm places Jen in charge. They both go to extreme circumstances to prove her inept ability with computers. The group soon become friends, with Jen's social skills, and Roy and Moss's "knowledge" of IT, and Denholm's hatred of people who cannot act like a team.

I would recommend The IT Crowd to everyone over the age of 13, however, do not judge the series of the first episode. the second episode is the redeemer of the first.

Some funny quotes:

Roy (Singing): We don't need no education.
Moss: Yes you do, you just used a double negative.

(There is a fire in the office, and Moss tried to use an extinguisher, but it burst into flames)

Moss: Now why has it done that? -Checks label-
Moss: -Scoffs- Made in Britain. I'll just put it here... with the rest of the fire.
