Shut Up: Flower Boy Band - What Is It About?

What is so good about the TV series, Shut Up: Flower Boy Band? Well, everything. To be honest, when I saw the synopsis of this TV show, I thought it was going to be just another South Korean drama (for those of you who watch SK dramas, you know what I mean) but boy, was I proved wrong.

I decided to watch the first episode to see what it was really about and truthfully, ninety percent of the reason I clicked on episode one was because the cast was made up of hot Korean boys. Twenty minutes into the first episode, it began to dawn on me that this wasn't just any SK drama, it was completely different. As minutes passed on, the characters grew on me and I fell in love with each and everyone of them not only because of their looks but because of their characters.

For a character to be fully developed, you need not good actors, but great actors to act them out so that the viewer can feel connected to the characters. You know you've watched a good movie when you can relate yourself to one of the characters or if you can feel the emotions the character is feeling. This is exactly what happened to me. The main theme of this TV series is friendship. There is nothing like the strong bond between friends and it was clearly portrayed in this show. When one of the characters died, I felt an immense of pain and loss. It was if I too, had lost a friend.

The death of a friend didn't have a negative impact on the band but it brought them closer as friends but as usual, a girl threatens to tear them up. Well, not only a girl; a girl and fame. Their friendship was tested and at a point, it hung on a very loose thread but at the end of it all, all that matters is friendship. I've got you and you've got me. Love conquers all.

The soundtrack of this show is to die for but none of them are in English but who says a song must be in English before you like it. When it was sung during the episodes, it sounded like a real live performance even though it may not have been but you wouldn't be able to tell unlike most movies where you know the song had been already recorded in a studio.

I recommend this to anyone looking for something good to watch. A lot of tears and laughter will be shared.

These two songs are my all time favorite in the album: Jaywalking and Wake Up
I also recommend listening to the rest of the songs.
