Dragonball Z
Dragonball Z is the sequel of the anime, Dragonball, also created by Akira Toryiama and it continues the further adventures of Son Goku as he tries to deal with having a family and protecting the Earth from even more vicious foes than he's faced before. Like Dragonball, Dragonball Z was originally released in the Shonen Jump Comics alongside others such as Naruto, One Piece, Bo-bo-bo-bo-bo, Bleach, and many others.
Characters:
Son Goku - Goku is the main character of the series. A young Saiyan Warrior that was sent to Earth a long time ago, Goku likes ot eat and he's studied Martial Arts growing up. He often enjoys a good challenge, but despite that, he has a strong sense of justice. Goku's main attacks includes the Kamehameha Wave and the Spirit Bomb.
Son Gohan - Goku's half saiyan son. Gohan originally was under homeschooling by his mother until Piccolo took him to train to fight the Saiyans. His main attacks include Masenko-Ha and the Kamehameha Wave. Gohan was also the first person to master Super Saiyan Two.
Krillin - Goku's best friend and fellow member of the Z-Warriors. Krillin is often a bit anxious and tends to be the more scared member, but he still goes to any lengths in protecting his friends. Krillen's main atttack is the Destructo Disc. Krillin studied martial arts alongside Goku under Master Roshi.
Piccolo - Piccolo is the Namekian ally of the Z-Warriors and Gohan's teacher. He starts off as a villain or rival to Goku, but after the year long training with Gohan, he becomes an official ally. Piccolo has this special ability that allows him to regrow any limbs -- except for his head -- should he lose an arm or a leg.
Vegeta- Vegeta is the prince of Saiyans and the only other Saiyan left of the Saiyan race -- besides Goku. He starts off as a villain towards the Z-Warriors, but after the incident on Namek, he officially joins Goku and friends. He has a very proud streak that makes him a bit quick to anger when he sees others being stronger than him. Vegeta sees Goku as a rival in becoming the strongest Saiyan alive. His special attacks include Galick Gun.
Story:
Years after the events in Dragonball, Goku and friends are finally grown up, and Goku started a family, but things change on the day he takes his son, Gohan, to a reunion party with his friends at the Kame House. His true origins are revealed and a chain of events are unleashed leading up to a new adventure for Goku and his friends.
Conclusion:
I grew up on this series and despite the remake that's out now, I still like going back and watching this entire series. The action, the characters, the animation -- even the storyline made me fall in love with the series. Watch Dragonball Z to see why me, my brothers, and many others love this series.
