Catfish: The TV Show is an amazing, one of a kind television show that has taken the world by storm. The show had its beginning with the Catfish movie. The movie involved the show's host, Nev Shulman, who fell in love with a young girl on the internet. After many times trying to meet the girl with no luck, he and his family grew suspicious of her. It was then that they learned the girl Nev had fallen in love with didn't exist. Not in the sense that he knew her, anyway. The girl Nev had fallen in love with was really a 40 year old woman pretending to be her daughter. It was in those moments that the term 'catfish' was born and the legacy began.

Much like the original movie, the TV show follows Nev and Max as they investigate online romances. The show's participants contact Nev and Max for help with finding out the truth about their love, and hope that the two men can either bring them closer to the person they've grown feelings for or smash those feelings completely.

Catfish: The TV Show is currently in its third season, which airs on MTV. New episodes can be seen on Wednesday nights, while older episodes air randomly throughout the week.
