Heroes

Heroes No, they don't jump around in colorful costumes, transparent hosiery, tight shirts and patches on their eyes. They don't have magical swords, plush almighty cars, spider web pouches inside their hands. "Go, web, go!" means nothing to them. They're not from Krypton and that green [precious] stone cut out of the planet cannot do any harm; on the contrary, nowadays emeralds tip off the position in society; they don't mess with people's physical stability.

So who are they? Simply, they are heroes. That's how Tim Kring, 'dad' of the show, named his 'last child' - the TV craze of today that will seduce you in the nick of time, place you in front of the screen and forbid you to blink.

The show took the audience by surprise back in 2006, leaving the watchers with their jaws dropped; craving more.

What grows onto you by leaps and bounds is the simplicity of the characters. The plot unveils a bevy of individuals who look just like you and me thus they have slightly different genetic codes. Or to lay bare the secret, they're superhumans with superpowers. Eventhough some of them have the abilities to fly, this is not another Superman wannabe TV show.

Every episode is a raw diamond itself in which we become more than just 'bystanders'; we can feel the burden they carry, we can feel them struggle with their powers striving to adjust to the world.

They fly; they bend time and space; they defy the laws of physics; above all, they're dogged to use their 'specialty' to save the humanity. All of them but one - a vigilante hiding behind the name of Sylar, whose mission comes down to killing other superhumans and stealing their powers. Despite his antagonistic role, he makes the show breathtaking and thrilling while you're kneeling glued to the screen, anticipating his demise.

This show blends in drama, science fiction, thriller, humor; the genres which skillfully put together make an utter blessing.
