Omg! I just watched part of the first episode again because I wanted to see Byung-hee and I cringed at the girl's dorky best friend. I forgot how annoying she was and her obvious fake glasses.

The plot wasn't perfect. It did have a ton of cliches, but I agree that it made up for it a bit on how it focused on the band's lives and their families. It made them more real and relate-able.

This is hands down one of my very favorite dramas. It had it's ups and downs, but the acting was great and like you said in another comment, everything they dealt with was realistic and so emotional omg.

Also Hajin looked like curly hair era Chanyeol, but that is just a side comment Mr. Green

YES Shil Ba! He just kept coming back! My reactions were the exact same as Eye Candy's. All *eye rolly* and dread!

OH! Also, their teacher was super annoying. He was super cliche in the beginning and then he became the nice guy? And he always popped back up!

i liked specific characters & the way the plotline played in the favor of said specific characters. i liked the struggles eye candy faced too mainly because they were realistic problems. no one knew in retrospect what they were doing or what they wanted & i liked that they were lost but slowly but surely started to find themselves all w/ a silver lining.

BUT THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT. especially when their rage against ji-hyuk would have initially made sense if byung-hee went out w/ su-ah (none of which he did, he was just totally infatuated w/ her on a first impression basis) but yes, su-ah's personality was just aggravating

I agree with a lot of what you said about it being cliche. It's chalk full of them, but when I overlook those (because what can you expect from K-Drama?) this is actually one of my favorite series from the genre. Probably because of the relationship between Eye Candy. Many of the characters from the band were well-rounded. We got to see their home lives and the issues they deal with.

Some of it really bothers me, Su-Ah's personality a lot of the time, her best friend (like you said), but there was a lot that worked for me too. I really liked the "I'm in love with my dead best friend's girl" angle because there was enough there to make it work. What I didn't understand is how everyone was mad at Ji-hyuk for liking her (because she was Joo Byung-hee's muse) when Joo never even talked to her.
