    A ballerina, like her mother and her grandmother, born and raised in Magnitogorsk, where she met Evgeni Malkin. Evgeni was Svetlana's first love but when she graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy, she left for Moscow to study at the Bolshoi Ballet. At first, they wrote letters to each other but when Evgeni left for Pittsburgh, he stopped replying to her letters. So now, on an exchange program, Svetlana is going to Pittsburgh, to find Evgeni, but is that all she'll find? Svetlana stands at a very tall 5'9" which has been both a blessing and a curse. Her trademark is her height, her long, elegant lines, simple but expressive presentation, her golden eyes, her classical Russian technique, and her extreme flexibility and turnout. She is portrayed by rising Russian ballerina Polina Semionova who was featured in Herbert Grönemeyer's music video "Demo (Letzter Tag)."

    The overly talkative, overly ambitious ballerina. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, she came from the Pittsburgh Ballet Academy and when she graduated was offered a soloist job in the company by the then director, Mikhail Semionov. However when Semionov retired, Anna began having problems with the new director, who relegated her to the corps and had to work part time as a waitress. She hopes that this will be her season to move back into her soloist position. Lives with Alicia and Svetlana in the company apartment. She is known for her textbook technique, dramatic presentation but also infamous for her lack of emotion and expression and for being "uncoachable". She is portrayed by now retired ballerina, Amanda Schull who played Jodie Sawyer in the film Center Stage.

    Born in Boston Alicia started as a gymnast but a knee injury ended her rising career, so she turned to ballet. Standing at 5', she is rather short for a ballerina and her proportions and grace is lacking but her power and work ethic is what brought her to Pittsburgh. Alicia is known and renowned for her explosive, high leaps, expressive and unique choreography, great flexibility and gymnastics and acrobatic elements in her choreography. Joining the company only last year, she is only a corps member with Anna, so she works part time as a makeup artist and hair stylist to make ends meet. Alicia is the most trendy and contemporary of all the dancers with the Company. She is portrayed by American gymnast Alicia Sacramone, who competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and plans to stage a comeback for 2012 London Olympics.

    Born in Los Angeles, Alejandro was surrounded by ballet because of his family's dance studio. At first, he was resistant to ballet and dance, wanting to become a professional soccer player instead. But after watching the ballet, Spartacus, Alejandro was amazed at the masculinity that ballet had and soon started his formal training. It wasn't long before he started winning awards for his vulnerability on stage, incredible height on his leaps, long lines due to him being well over 6', versatility in many different dance styles, and his ability to take on a character. He was spotted by Mikhail Semionov, the former director of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, in a competition and Semionov immediately offered Alejandro a soloist role with his Company. Since, Alejandro has been one of the principal dancers with PBT and regularly gets solos. Alejandro has been trained in everything from ballet to hip-hop to contemporary. He is portrayed by soccer player Miguel Torres who used to play for Real Madrid but is now playing for Getafe.
