    Jakob Dail is a fictional character in the book Dali. (1. Early Life:) Jakob Dali was raised by his grandparents in New York, New York. As a young child, Jakob was usually very level-headed, but was angered easily when made fun of. As Jakob grew older, he lived by the words of his grandmother and grandfather, words he would later use to train himself as a spy. At the age of eighteen, Jakob joined the military, but was discharged after showing disrespect for authority figures. (2. Career at Target) At the request of a general who believed Jakob had exceptional skill, Jakob aimed to join Target as a means to be challenged. A short test where Jakob had to escape the Target facility gets him in. During a Target mission, Jakob has a one night stand with an assassin named Abigail. He isn't very trustful of her at first, but they eventually start a relationship. Four years later, a dispute between Jakob and the company leads to his departure. (3. Life After Target) Jakob rejoined his family in New York, but realized the danger constantly looming over him, and continued to keep his two lives separate. While hiding out, he is successful in keeping anyone from hurting him or his family, but fails to catch Abigail's killer the night she is shot and killed. Jakob is given a second chance when the assassin tries to kill him days later. The assassination attempt fails, but turns into a fist fight between the two. The assassin escapes, leaving Jakob badly injured. Jakob eventually contacts a friend who he knew in the army, Rafael, to help him find the assassin.
