    The main protagonist. Julia is a regular English girl, who doesn’t believe in superstitions, but finally finds herself in love with a ghost, and also her childhood sweetheart, at the same time. Julia once lives in London, but then at the age of sixteen, she moves with her mother and her stepfather to a small town in Aberfeldy, Scotland. She loves historical stuffs, and it is clearly seen that she’s quite critical in it and is fascinated when she visits a nearby abbey. Besides, she also loves literature, which is implied that Julia collects a number of Shakespeare’s books. Julia has a rocky relationship with Cornelius, resisting to be his friend at once and clearly gets annoyed with his presence, before she finally develops a friendship and later realizes that she is in love with him. She is stubborn and is implied that she is annoyed by the existence of ghosts. Julia is also independent, showing that she doesn’t depend much on Cornelius and refuses for him to worry about her or protect her too much. Julia has a straight dark brown hair which is a bit wavy at the end of the locks. Her hair falls right past her shoulders. Julia means “youthful”, “soft”, or “tender”.
