From the Soc side of life, sent to the Greaser side of life, Nia is not too happy about any of it. She isn't one to like the Greasers considering they are all "filthy" and such, but that is all she knows about them, she doesn't really know them, so maybe the move will be good for her. She had to leave her Soc life, because her father had become abusive, and her mother couldn't take it anymore after so many beatings towards Nia, so her mother packed up her stuff along with Nia's and told her they were leaving. So they left, but her mother had no job, so they were forced to go to the Greaser side, her mother found no problem for she had used to live there, and was friends' with the Curtis family. Now with Nia in the picture it is completely different. Nia isn't spoiled, she is far from. Nia is very flirty with any attractive boy, and with all the Greaser boys being so...cute, she won't be able to contain herself. Anyway Nia is also in love with writing, that is all she does. She hates school, and drinks and smokes, she thinks he mom doesn't know..but she is wrong, she does, and that is why Nia will fit in perfectly with the Greasers. Nia is also a tough girl. She says how it is, and doesn't care.

He is smart for his age, and does well in school, unlike his companions. His older brothers are Darry and Sodapop, Darry is always strict on Ponyboy and Sodapop is there to comfort Ponyboy when Darry has gotten him down. Ponyboy is smart and sweet, and observant he notices some minor things. His parents died in a accident awhile back, and he sometimes remembers it all. He isn't afraid to fight, he just doesn't like doing so. He is the youngest one in the Greasers. Once he meets Nia he begins to wonder...how a girl from the Soc side of the town, is so much more like a Greaser. And with the girl living next door it shouldn't be too hard to figure out..

Johnny Cade

He does not succeed in school very well, and yet he still faces tough situations with careful concentration. He is nervous and sensitive for his parents are abusive and alcoholics. Because his parents' don't really care about him Johnny tends to look to the Greasers as his true family, and in return the older ones all look over him, and protect him..especially Dally. Johnny has big dark eyes which look innocent and frightened most of the time. Johnny is very sweet too. And once Nia shows up he starts to open up a bit more..

He is the handsome one, the ones the girls all fall for, he is Sodapop Curtis, and he is the middle brother of the Curtis trio. He is happy-go-lucky and with his charms to top off everything else it is no wonder why Ponyboy envies his older brother. Sodapop has/had a girlfriend named Sandy who got pregnant by another man and moved to Florida..Sodapop still is determined to marry her...He can still be very flirty though, and Nia just makes it 100x worse for him..

Has been best friends with Sodapop since grade school, and he works at the gas station with Sodapop. He knows everything about cars, and he specializes in stealing hubcaps. Cocky and intelligent, tall and lean, he wears his dark hair in complicated twists and curls on his head. He is also very tough, he once held off 4 opponents in a fight with a broken pop bottle. He only sees Ponyboy as Sodapops annoying kid brother and wishes he wouldn't tag along..Nia is seen as a challenge to him, and he wants to be the first to "welcome" her.

He is a wise cracking greaser. He is also mostly always wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt. His real name is Keith, but Two-Bit is what they call him, he regularly shoplifts and has one prized possession;sleek black-handled switchblade. He flirts with Socs girlfriends just to see the boundary line and mess with it. He doesn't really see Nia as a potential girlfriend or anything, just another girl for him to flirt with..She is a used to be Soc.

Dallas or Dally is the toughest Greaser in the whole group. He used to go with the gangs back in New York. He has hard icy blue eyes, and unlike the other guys in his group he does not put grease in his hair. His violent tendencies make him extremely dangerous then the other Greasers. He takes pride in his criminal record, and is protective of Johnny. Dally does like girls, and they like him, mostly because he is so dangerous, but has he finally found one girl who won't go after him and he has to go after her?

Ponyboy’s oldest brother. Darrel, known as “Darry,” is raising his younger brothers since their parents death. Strong, athletic, and intelligent, Darry has quit school. He works two jobs to hold the family together. The unofficial leader of the greasers, he becomes an authority figure for Ponyboy. He also makes good chocolate cake, which he and his brothers eat every day for breakfast. The other greasers call him “Superman.” Darry see's no interest in a 15 year old girl, the only interest he has with her..is to make sure she stays safe.
