Jesse grew up on the streets with his mom for eighteen years before he met Van. Now that he has Van in his life, Jesse is much more protective. He cares for her with all his heart and will love her to the end of the world. Jesse does what ever is in his power to keep Van safe and out of trouble. He's a been a pimp and even apart of a gang and now he's a drug dealer, all this being said he's still a good guy just trying to make ends meet.

Van isn't sure of where she's from or how she was thrown into this thing called life. In fact, she thinks she doesn't really care. All she's aware of is that she was in a foster home most of her life and left when living there had become to hard. Deep down, Van yearns to know who her biological parents were and fantasizes about the day she'll be reunited with them. Along with this, Van is also deeply arsonphobic and can't stand being too close to fire. She thinks this has something to do with her mysterious past. Van acts like she doesn't care about her past life, and tries to focus on just living for the future with Jesse.
