I've been alive for quite some time now; long enough to know how things work. Something goes wrong in a small town like Kala Island, and everyone knows. And if you're involved? Well, then you're automatically guilty. I may not have been blamed for what happened, but my brother was. And although it really was his fault, I still refuse to believe that he was in the wrong. Now though, reality is hitting me harder than ever imagined possible... It's been four years and I am still being haunted by my brother, Ben, and his terrible past. I still have nightmares; dreams in which I choke on the smoke that engulfed him; dreams in which I can still see his silhouette in his bedroom window, smiling and waving as the flames burned him alive. It's been four years, and I am now returning to the place in which my life crashed down on top of me. Returning to the very place where Ben died, where I left behind one of the best friends I could have ever found, and where I will now be suffocated by the memories that I had long ago pushed to the back of my mind. Ben loved fire so much that it killed him. But in the end, mine will always burn brighter, and I'm still not the one going down in flames.
