Iseult has only just turned 18 on June 1st; her parents have never really been there for her so she's always lived a slightly chaotic life, where she can literally do what she wants, when she wants. She's free yet feels completely weighed down. When Izzy meets Dante at a small gig in early February the year she's to turn 18, she feels drawn to him, but it isn't until suddenly in late April that year that he adds her and they begin to speak, giving into their wishes they meet up in mid-July, two months after his 16th birthday and just weeks after her 18th. There does something about Dante that draws Iseult in and makes her want to throw away her unsettled ways and for once have peace reign over her life.

Dante is the eldest son of the stereotypical catholic parents, however his father and mother have always made it obvious that they love their second son more. In their eyes their 16 year old could learn a thing or two from the sickenly angelic 13 year old. With no piercings, no tattoos, naturally coloured hair and a clean shaven face, perfect grades and a wonderful, warm, kind and genuinly caring personality he's 'the type of boy a girl's parents dream their daughter will marry when they first hold her in their arms'. Dante happily turned 16 on May 6th, making him 23 months younger than Iseult, which as the gap becomes known also becomes something their friends never forget to point out. With Iseult, Dante feels free and like he can be himself which is nothing like the angelic act he's been showing since he was but a boy. He's willing to throw it all away for this girl, though no one else seems to want to let him.

Colleen, or Mouse as Iseult fondly calls her, is the younger and only sister of Iseult. She's a bookworm and her family rarely hears from her as she is always engrossed in a book of some sort. Colleen has always been a little wary of the people that Iseult brings home and tends to shy away from them, only just having gotten used to Bailey. She's the golden child of the family, a grade A student and just an amazing person in general. Which is probably why her parents think it would be better if Dante was her boyfriend and not iseult's.

Bailey is a few months older than Iseult and her best friend and treats Iseult like a little sister. The two are almost inseperable and share everything, no secrets between these two. Though its a massive shock to Bailey when she realises that her best friend is madly in love with a boy she's never heard of before. She hides it well though, by smiling and supporting Iseult when she finds out and soon comes to realise that maybe the reason she hadn't heard of him was because of how in love Iseult is with him. Bailey is probably the only person that doesn't care about the age gap, which although small has been a big issue for the couple.

Cooper James, as all but Iseult call him is quite the handsome one. With black hair and eyes a weird sort of light blue that in some light looks grey, he is the commonly categorised as "the emo kid". Though once he opens his mouth he proves that he's the rebel, the bad kid, the catalyst that causes the gang to rebel to the extremes that they do. He's a good kid at heart but sadly only his family and Iseult and the love of his life Bailey tend to see it. Coops has been in love with Bailey since the 6th grade, he's just too scared to admit that he, the most 'heartless' of the group is capable of such emotion.

Jaret, the utterly over protective best friend of Dante. He's the extremely conservative one of the two and has only just come to terms with the fact that his best friend is bisexual. Jaret only wants what is best for Dante and as far as he can tell, Iseult is just not good enough, also he thinks that something is wrong with her for her to be dating someone so much younger. He hates everything about her and desperately tries to break the couple up.
