Adam Milligan has been stuck in the pit with Lucifer and Michael for almost one hundred Hell-years. When Michael breaks him out, the two of them decide to stick together on the surface. Michael says it's for protection purposes, but truth be told, Adam starts to fall for the naive archangel. Living together should be a piece of cake, right? Wrong. Nightmares of his torture and abuse in Hell keep Adam awake nearly every night. He's losing his appetite and hallucinations start to plague him during the day. Slowly but surely, Adam's coming undone.

Michael was once the Sword of Heaven before he was trapped in the Hellish torture chamber known as Lucifer's Cage alongside Lucifer himself, Lucifer's vessel Sam Winchester, and Michael's own vessel Adam Milligan. In a stroke of desperation and madness, Michael managed to break himself and Adam out of the Cage, but it cost him something very valuable: his grace. With each passing day on the surface, Michael loses more and more of his grace and becomes more human. He has no idea what will happen when the last of his grace finally vanishes, but he knows he needs it to somehow save Adam from the Hellish nightmares plaguing his every thought. Time is running out. What's a dying archangel to do?
