Her parents divorced in her junior year of high school, at which point she divided her time between Oakdale, PA and D.C. Graduated and went to college in NYC, achieving a Bachelor's in Architecture from Pratt Institute with a minor in Interior Design. Spent some time at New York's School of Design. Has somewhat of a dark past. Likes classic rock, home decor, orange roses, classic architecture, and James Neal.

One of Izzy's best friends. The two met in college, where Karla was originally aiming for a shot at becoming a Hollywood stylist. However, she met Bradley Owens and the two eloped. After her unfortunate miscarriage, she changed her major to Business and Finance. After graduating, she moved with Brad to his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she got a job as a realtor and reconnected with Izzy. Completely sports illiterate, known as "the mean one."

Izzy's maternal grandfather. A Navy veteran, he is somewhat stern and imposing, but secretly a softie. As he and Izzy's grandmother, Adelaide, practically raised Izzy, the two of them are very close.

Considered a drifter by her family, Molly is Izzy's oldest friend. The two grew up in Butler together until Izzy moved to D.C. at age 10. A passionate fan of music, she learned how to play guitar, bass, and piano. Lying about her age, she joined a local band when she was 15. She dropped out of school when she was 17 and moved to New York City to play the underground circuit. She was in and out of a number of bands, the last being the one she was kicked out of by her ex-boyfriend, the front man. She then started her own band, The Dandy Fine, and after a year or so, they were signed to an indie label and have since toured three times.

James Neal's old flame from Dallas. She is a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys. The two dated for several years before becoming engaged; however, she broke it off just one day before he was traded to Pittsburgh.

He and Izzy's mother, Helen, divorced when Izzy was sixteen as a result of the differences between their lifestyles. Cutting ties, he moved back to Oakdale for a time before quitting his job as a graphic designer and pursuing his dream of illustrating book covers for publishing houses. He lives with his girlfriend, Angela, whom he met in L.A.
