Rachel Koch is my fictional character. She is one of the main characters in my fanfiction Some Nights, a story about Nate Ruess and his life-love, Rachel Koch. Full Name: Rachel Francesca Koch (later Ruess) (Koch is pronounced "Cotch") Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Blue Height: 5'7" Race: African-American and Caucasian (Mixed) Place of Birth: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Though raised in Las Vegas, Nevada after her family moved there when she was three, so she never picked up an accent, but is fluent in Portuguese). Date of Birth: July 9th, 1983 Occupation: Cardiothoracic surgeon (Heart, lungs, chest, etc) Spouse: Nate Ruess (m. 2013-???) Children: Jane Elizabeth Ruess (b. 2014), Danielle Taylor Ruess (b. 2015), Julian Austin Ruess (b. 2017), all with husband Nate Ruess. Personality: Usually bubbly and happy, always looking for humor in life. However, if you betray her easily obtained trust, it's gone forever. College: Harvard University Med. School: Stanford Medical School Other: Rachel's parent's were both world-renounced doctors, her father a neuro surgeon, and her mother was a Cardiothoracic surgeon, which meant they were moving to different hospitals around the US after moving from Brazil to North America. Rachel practically grew up in a hospital for most of her childhood. Despite the fact Rachel lived for about thirteen years in Las Vegas, growing up in an apartment literally directly on The Strip, she absolutely hates gambling, though she loves partying... When Rachel was almost seventeen, her family picked up and moved again to Tribeca, New York, where she lived for two years until she went off to college at Harvard University. Rachel never had a close relationship to her parents, mainly because her mother and father were both constantly at the hospital, never there to care for her. Rachel and Nate named their daughter, Jane, after the 'Jane' part in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most beautiful places in the world and also because Rachel had been born there. -Rachel is hyper-observant and has a photographic memory, part of what makes her such a good doctor and surgeon. -Rachel has a tattoo on her arm that says in Portuguese (in small font): 'A vida não é medida pelo número de vezes que respiramos, mas pelos momentos que nos tiram a respiração.', which means 'Life is not measured by how many breaths we take, but by how many moments take our breath away.' -Her face model is Adriana Lima w/black hair -She majored in Psychology at Harvard before going to medical school. -Nate writes Sight of The Sun for her

Danielle and Jane mention they can't have their friends over when Julien is around because their friends will only talk and flirt with Jules. Julian was named Julian by Nate, because he had mentioned in a livestream Julien is what he wanted to name his son.

She still has much to learn, but it's clear she'll be a well-known and well-respected singer one day. Jane was named after the 'Jane' in Rio de Janeiro, her mother's birthplace, and also because it was known to be one of the most beautiful places in the whole world. Jane has always felt a little different from her mother, sister, and brother, because of their clearly naturally darker skin and that fact the only person she shares her skin color with is her father. The two eventually marry and have children. He is the frontman/singer for the musical group fun., and has an amazing singing voice.
