Ashlyn-Mae is now a Primary School Teacher at Abbey Primary School, California. But more importantly, she is a single mother, always has been since she left her famous boyfriend about three years ago. Her parents were supportive of her when she turned up on their doorstep, in tears, and brought her a house big enough to fit a whole family in there. Ashlyn still has nightmares of that horrible night, but she wears a façade around her gorgeous little boy so he doesn't think there is anything wrong. Ashlyn always puts her child above everything else, she has herself set out to be the best mother she could be for James.

James is Ashlyn’s son. James is a very shy, happy child, but he is really observant with what is happening around him. James loves his mother very much, and his grandfather is his only father figure. James is a spitting image of his father, but he doesn't know who he is. James cares for his mother, and always tries to cheer her up if he thinks she’s looking upset. James goes to the local daycare whilst his mother works. He loves it there, he has friends that he plays heroes and villains with, and he has so much fun. But he loves it when his mother picks him up and takes him home.

Caprina is the girl that owns the daycare where James goes. Caprina and Ashlyn are best friends and have been for awhile. When Caprina was 16, Ashlyn’s father, Michael, found her on the street. Michael took her home and he and Kathleen looked after her until she was 18. Caprina is very grateful to the Skye family, for they have given her a place to live, and a place to work. Caprina has trouble trusting men, especially after her background life, so she hasn’t been with a man for a very long time, but she is indeed straight.

Jayden is a very blunt man, who teaches at Abbey Primary School, where Ashlyn teaches. Jayden saw Ashlyn on her first day, and approached her, wanting to get to know her more- but she wouldn’t allow it. Jayden is the type of teacher that you wished taught your class, and gave you after school detentions. He was very attractive, and all the female teachers swooned over him, all of them, except Ashlyn, which is why he wanted her so badly.

Kathleen is Ashlyn’s mother and she owns a fashion magazine. Kathleen may be 41, but she looks like she is still in her early 30s, which is why her husband loves her so much; she thinks. Seeing as Kathleen is unable to have any more children, she doesn't mind taking in children that need the help, like Caprina. Kathleen was a little skeptic when Michael brought home a 16 year old girl that was living on the streets, but once she got to know Caprina, she knew that she was a lovely young lady that needed some help. But Kathleen didn't know what to do on the day that Ashlyn came knocking on her door crying. Kathleen couldn't believe what happened to her only daughter, but she promised to help her with everything that she needed help with, being glad that she was finally going to get a real career.

Michael is a very wise man, which looks extremely good for his age. Michael cares for children that need the care, especially when that child is his very own. Michael didn't know what to do when Ashlyn came back home. Half of him wanted to kill Brian, but the other half wanted to stay and protect his daughter. Michael is very different to his wife, he knows that education and a career is important, but so is what his own daughter wants to do with her life. Michael owns his own business, which is very stressful at times, but wants to be a father again, which is why he took in Caprina. Normally Michael would ignore the silent cries of a girl on the street, but he knew there was something different about Caprina, that Caprina didn't want to be there, she wanted to be saved. And Michael took this as his chance to raise another child, even if it was for a short time. Now, Michael is a grandfather that looks after James at every chance he gets. But if he ever saw Brian, he would tell him what’s what.

After Roxy and Matt finally admitted their feelings for each other, they became one, all because of Ashlyn. Roxy and Ashlyn are still best friends, they talk all the time, even after what happened. Roxy cannot forgive Brian for what he did, but she is still his friend. Six months after Ashlyn left, Matt proposed to Roxy, Roxy was overwhelmed. A year after the engagement, Roxy and Matt were married. Roxy wished that her best friend would be there for her, but she knew Ashlyn had a lot of secrets that she wishes to keep from the others, ones that only Roxy, out of the old Avenged group, knew.

Matt is under a lot of pressure. Finding a new drummer is a lot harder than he thought it was, but not to mention his best friend, Brian, is tearing apart from the seams losing his cool and breaking down emotionally all the time. Only the Avenged boys knew what actually happened, but none of them would tell the girls, only because they’d be rushing to tell Ashlyn, when the boys know that only Brian should tell her the truth. Matt is really worried for Brian, he’s drinking every alcohol he can find each night, and ***ing every girl that is willing to *** him, which is a lot of girls. But, Brian won’t listen to anyone so eventually Matt gave up. Matt knows that his wife still talks to Ashlyn, but he would never tell Brian, or tell Roxy that he knows the truth, but in the end, Matt convinces her to let him talk to Ashlyn, which leads into a whole new situation.
