Nate Ruess is a real person, but also one of the main characters in my fanfictions, Some Nights and Way to the Future, where he meets and falls in love with a young woman named Rachel Koch (Some Nights) and Jane Ledger (Way to the Future). The two eventually marry and have children. He is the frontman/singer for the musical group fun., and has an amazing singing voice. To add to her musical talent, she has Perfect Pitch (ability of a person to identify or re-create a given musical note without the benefit of an external reference). Though she hates having perfect-pitch, because it often gives her terrible headaches/migraines. Dakota has tried to train herself out of having absolute pitch, which is impossible, but managed to help block it out a little better. At random times, she can be seen with her head in her hands from headaches caused from perfect-pitch. She has very advanced perfect-pitch, and is able to hear the cents in notes (ie: say that's a C, and it's 20 cents sharp. The cents are out of 100). Dakota sounds exactly like Ariana Grande when she sings, having the very soulful, old-time sound. Simon Cowell said after her audition, "I think we're looking at a future star." Dakota sang 'Vienna', by Billy Joel for her audition song. Both L.A. Reid and Demi Lavato yelled out "WHAT?!" during her performance in amazement. Dakota was never placed near the bottom. Dakota wins the 2012 US X Factor, beating out her best friend, Carly Rose Sonenclar. She was apart of 'Britney's Babies' for the X Factor. Dakota was Young Nala on Broadway in The Lion King when she was eleven to when she was thirteen. She also was Young Cosette in Les Miserables on Broadway from when she was nine to eleven. She goes to a French Immersion school, and has gone since Kindergarden (now in 8th grade). Dakota gets a lot of publicity after winning, and is on Ellen and other talk shows. Nate wins part-time custody for her over her mother, Meghan, who is not happy about that. One bit. Dakota clearly dislikes Britney Spears, which is a problem because Britney is her mentor throughout the show. It is amusing at times because it's so painfully obvious of Dakota's negativity towards the blonde woman but Britney never notices. -Dakota writes the song 'Ride' for Lana Del Rey, and co-writes other songs with her. -She is in the 2012 New York Jingle Ball Line-up, along with her father.
