Growing up in a small Oklahoma town, all Ryleigh wanted was to get away. Rebelling in any way possible for much of her younger life, she was forced to grow up upon the death of her parents. Moving away as soon as she had the chance, Ryleigh took up university in New York where she met Rose and the two became fast friends. With a hot temper that could only be found in a red head, she doesn't like being told what to do, but knows when to buckle down and work hard. After one too many bad experiences with men, she's given up on long term relationships. She's too afraid of becoming attached to someone that could be taken away in an instant.

(22 at start of story) As the youngest child of a Mexican immigrant mother and American father, Rose spent the majority of her early years as a military brat, traveling all over. At ten, her parents divorced and her mother, her older brother, Oliver, and she moved Dallas to live with her aunt and uncle. All her life, Rose has been shy, embarrassed of the scars that covered her shoulders thanks to a nasty sunburn. Always the level headed one of the duo, she often keeps Ryleigh out of trouble. Since wrapping college in New York with Ryleigh, she found her 'prince charming' in David Payne. Although, it might just be too good to be true.
