Zayn can't figure out why he's able to see the Little People. His mother said that he's special, but Zayn thinks it's a real nuisance. He was an outcast when he was younger because he told people what he saw, resulting parents to keep their kids away from him. As he grew older, he kept his ability a secret, but seeing faeries and gnomes have since become a norm to him. He doesn't try to make contact with them and ignore them as much as possible. However, when four beings come and paid him a "visit", he'll soon get to know why he is able to see the Little People.

Aethelwyne

She is a faerie that's chosen to watch over Zayn as he grew up. They never met, so Zayn never knew about her existence. An incident happened in which she saves Zayn's life, thus their friendship begins. This kicks off Lairethiien telling Zayn that he's a mage and she's pissed because she thinks it's still too soon. She and Lairethiien know each other in the Other World and they have a love/hate relationship. She is called Aerie in the human world.

Faenor

Faenor is sent to the human world by the Frost King and Snow Queen to find the mage who claim to possess the power in preventing the Barrier from collapsing. With unlikely beings as his allies, the troop manage to find the mage but a human girl whom he met along the way kept hindering him from his official duties. Worse still, the girl is a non-believer of his kind and it irks him to no end. Faenor is like any other winter sprite; mischievous and a trickster. With a youthful face and an easy-going attitude, he is much loved by other snow fairies (especially the females). However, when the time comes for him to be serious, he will be the soldier that he's supposed to be. He is called Louis in the human world.

Dylan McKenzie

At twenty-one years old, Dylan is a non-believer of the Little People. She stopped believing in them at a young age of eight when her parents split and she was sent to live with her aunt. From that day on, she doesn't believe in fairytales and she hated "happily ever afters" because her life isn't one. She's a hard-headed girl and when she crosses path with a self-confessing winter sprite, she can't help but to find a rational and scientific explanation behind the strange lad.

Yarrow

Yarrow is a bouncy, crazy pixie who’s always flying around, discovering new things and getting into trouble. He has always been a trouble maker, and he’s no different when he’s gotten a chance to check out the human world. Not quite accustomed to his human-sized body, Yarrow can usually be seen changing back to his smaller, original self. Some people who know Yarrow might call him mean, and they wouldn’t be completely wrong, as he has a knack for pranks and telling jokes at others expense –not to mention, his temper is as short as he is. In the human world he’s faced with Isa, an annoying little human girl who won’t leave him alone. He is called Harry in the human world.

Isadora 'Isa' Walker

When Isa was 7, she played Belle in her school’s production of Beauty and the Beast, and now at 19, she still hasn’t seemed to get out of that role. Her nose buried in a book and her mind light years away, Isadora is always on the outskirts of life. Her few friends understand that, sometimes Isadora simply needs time to escape with a book, and they leave her alone in a library or in the comfort of her room. She's majoring in communications and a minor in cryptzoology- the study of mythical creatures. She’s always believed there’s more to this world, that there are things and people somewhere out there we can only dream about; when her friends stopped believing in fairies in middle school, she was just getting started. Isadora is funny and bouncy and sometimes has boundary issues.

Pephennas

A Fir Darrig who tends to stay away from just about anyone. He'll play tricks when he's invisible so that no one can catch him. He has a soft spot for anyone in distress and likes to annoy bullies even when they're not bullying. If he sees someone in need of help, he'll help them, but most likely stay invisible so as not to draw attention to himself. He's that leprechaun that helps you find your keys when you're running late. He is called Niall in the human world.

She's bullied and such because of a lot of things and uses mythology and folklore to escape from it all, so she's pretty familiar with Pephennas' being, of all the boy's beings. That doesn't mean she believes it though. She uses fairytales to escape from life, but recognizes that reality is what it is, and would rather a distinct separation between the two. So when Pephennas saves her when the bullying goes too far, she's like, stop screwing with me. But yeah, she tries to be invisible the best she can. She almost envies fir darrigs.

Lairetheiin

Lairethiien, a woodland elf, is a carefree prince with a rebellious streak. He is good friends with Aethelwyne and although they constantly bicker and tease one another, they do have a close bond. Despite living a privileged life as a prince, Lairethiien still manage to find dissatisfaction within it and wishes for something less mundane. When Aethelwyne leaves to cover his duties in the human realm, it only leaves him feeling emptier than before. Once he’s offered a chance to venture into the human world, he jumps at the opportunity to finally get a way for a while. However, he soon discovers how limited his newfound freedom is once he realizes what he’s gotten himself into. Things get even more complicated when he meets a free spirited girl, who gets him thinking about where he’s going with his life. He is called Liam in the human world.
