Tommy Riordan Post Sparta and court marshaled from the Marines Corps; Tommy is looking towards calmer waters. He is attempting to rebuild his relationship with his brother Brendon, and considering it with Paddy: messing it up along the way. Part of his agreement with the Marines was mandated therapy. He is eventually placed in a group. He continues to train and recently has been given a job at Colt gym. Eventually his world collides with a timid girl Lennon, and he sets into motion a relationship that will heal them both.

Lennon Morgan She is a twenty-one year old self-proclaimed orphan who has a broken past. Her father dies in car accident, and her mother begins a downward spiral. Her mother remarries; her new husband began to make heavy sexual advances on her at the age of sixteen which came to a head with a very violent attack at seventeen. Deciding her and sister could no longer stay there she begins working two jobs supporting her sister moving into a small apartment. She dreams of going to college, but is having difficulties keeping her current life afloat. The incident with her step dad has left her terrified of men, and suffering from post-traumatic syndrome. She has been attending group therapy for the past couple of years. Working at Jo’s Diner and the library fills most of her days. Her younger sister is a senior in high school. She secludes herself only allowing Piper and a co-workers Angela and Brian in.
