After leaving New Jersey, Willow and her family moves to Pennsylvania. As a teenager, she had a severe case of depression and tried to commit suicide. Her mother also passed away before her 17th birthday. She moved to New York City shortly after graduating college with a Bachelor's in Art and Design. In her younger years, she had strong feelings for Gerard Way, who became her best friend in high school. She didn't, however, admit her feelings for him; the two of them never shared how they really felt about each other. Her brother Scott married his longtime best friend, Max. They are a gay couple and also live in New York City. Her little brother and sister, Cassie and Jack (twins), are now thirteen and live with her father in Pennsylvania.
