Tom was born on September 1st, 1989 in Leipzig, German Democratic Republic 10 minutes before his twin brother Bill. Tom and his brother Bill grew up in Hamburg, Germany with their next door neighbor and best friend Sammie Neumann. Tom began playing the guitar and piano as his brother began singing beside him, while Sammie would dance along to their music. In 2001 two more boys joined Bill and Tom's band, altogether they named their new band Tokio Hotel. Since then they have scored four number one singles, released three number one albums in their native country, and they toured all across the globe. Tom himself listens to German hip-hop, his favorite music artist is Samy Deluxe. He also has a total of seventeen guitars and one luggage full of his caps whenever Tokio Hotel is on tour.

Sammie was born on December 19th, 1990 in Hamburg, Germany. She was always the one girl in a group of guys, consequently, Sammie grew up with the band Tokio Hotel. She ended up growing closer to Bill and Tom Kaulitz because they were next door neighbors as children. Although, Tom Kaulitz has became her best friend because of her strong infatuation with him. Sammie is in love with Tom and wishes he wanted to be in a romantic relationship with her. However, she has no idea if Tom even feels that way. She fears his popularity and celebrity status has ruined her chances with Tom, Sammie wonders if she's too ordinary.
