Maria (more commonly known as Ri) is a university student, studying her final year at Manchester University. She spends her weekends in London, visiting her boyfriend, Koni and his house mate who she affectionately calls 'Bennie'. She has a sharp sense of humour, uses sarcasm as a frequent from of communication, is razor sharp with her arguments and approaches things with an honest, blunt nature. Her relationship with Koni has settled into a comfortable stage, and having been childhood friends they are extremely well versed in reading each other and don't shy away from conflict. Their personalities often clash, but there affection for each other is clear. Her family live quite far away, and she doesn't see them as often as she'd like, but she has found a temporary family in Koni and her friends at uni.
