Evory Anne Tucker, who prefers to be called "Evvy," was never really a small town girl. She loved her farm. She loved her family. She loved her hometown of Dozier, Alabama, but she had dreams bigger than that. She dreamed of getting out in the world and making a difference. From the day she was born, she wasn't like everyone else. Her twin sister, Ebony, either. Both were born with enhancements that no one could really explain, and for the first five years of their life, no one could control either. Evvy was born with the ability to disappear. As she got older, she learned to figure out everyone's weakness and morph herself into the said weakness. Even further, she learned to manipulate those who claimed to be untouchable. By age twelve, she had a solid and firm control on herself, and she was able to seem normal. But her abilities were always a strain on her small town family, so when she was fourteen, she and Ebony decided to leave town. Upon meeting their wild cousin, Natasha, who had already made a name for herself back in Russia, they decided to go with her. And when she left town, they went with her. When Natasha joined the KGB, they didn't join with her. Instead, they helped her on the side, and the three became a force to be reckoned with. They were so deadly and powerful that they caught S.H.I.E.L.D.'s attention, and S.H.I.E.L.D. acted on it by sending in one of their best assassins—Hawkeye. Evory was only seventeen when she met him, and she wouldn't see him again until she was twenty-one. Hawkeye doesn't kill the trio, as he was ordered to do. Instead, he offers to bring them in. Natasha makes a different call. He can take her in, and from his view, that was the best of the three. The woman in the KGB. But in bringing her in, he had to leave them out of it. Bring them back to Alabama and tell S.H.I.E.L.D. to stop following them. That part didn't happen, but they also didn't recruit Evvy or Ebony. So the two went back to Alabama and got jobs wherever they could. They lived in small towns, mostly, and while Ebony was a waitress, Evvy tried her hand at modeling. She was no top model, but she was fairly successful. And then she sees Hawk again, Hawk's way of calming Natasha down. Seeing the girls she had fought so hard with, survived with . . . her cousins that she felt were more like sisters . . . it worked. Evvy and Hawk talked more than either realized, and a few drinks and sexy dances later, they're in the bathroom kissing with passion she's never known. Passion she can't even admit to herself. And now, just a year later, she found herself bored. Tired of standing in fields taking pictures in the sun, tired of living a normal life when she was born with abilities she had learned how to use to help people—help or hurt, whichever she chose. With S.H.I.E.L.D. in shambles, she saw that as her chance to decide. To decide the thing she had always wanted. She was going to help people.
