Beryl is the only daughter of Dain Ironfoot. Third cousin to Thorin Oakenshield and fourth cousin of Fili son of Dis. Her life was that of a Dwarven Princess, raised deep within her mountain home. Life was expected as follows: Marriage, comfortable income, running a household, and rearing children. This changed however when Dain accepted the proposal of his daughter's hand to Fili, in exchange that her dowry might be given in the form of an army at the gates of Erebor to reclaim it. Dain agreed only for the wealth and ties it would give him. Beryl is wife of the heir presumptive, Fili, and the future Queen Consort, Under the Mountain.
