Yovela has lived a very troubled life and wasn't brought up knowing the things she should have known. Her mother (a prostitute) taught her to use men for her selfish needs and to manipulate them to do whatever she wanted. Her father (a convict) taught her how defend herself against men and survive through a life of crime. Her parents weren't surprised when she became pregnant at the young age of 16, and would have helped raised their grandchild had they not been arrested after ***ing a family of tourists for drug money. They were found guilty and sent to prison for life. Yovela ran away from home before she could be thrown into foster care. She survived with the skills her parents taught her and raised her daughter. From time to time, Yovela would grow tired of life and disappear for a long period of time, leaving her daughter to be raised by her current 'boyfriend' at the time or fend for herself. Eventually, she would come back and she and her daughter would leave town to enter a new town; a new life.

Heath Sullivan

Heath Sullivan is a former soldier who lives a comfortable life in construction. He’s a tough fit looking guy, and had his fill of beautiful women. Now that he’s older, he’s more interest in long term relationships rather than flings. He has a trouble making brother, and a younger sister. His parents had died in a house fire. He’s almost been married before, but found out the still born baby wasn’t his. Since then, he’s lived pretty much alone with occasional visits from his siblings.

Zaiyia is the daughter of Yovela and (from what her mother told her) either a former president of the United States or some high paying guy in the military. She never believed either of those answers. Zaiyia and her mother had spent most of their lives on the move. She guess it was because her mother was a restless person. They would move to a new town, meet a guy, and move in with him. Zaiyia had more daddies than she’s had birthdays, and they had all come from different walks of life. Randomly, Yovela would get up and leave town without a word, and Zaiyia was left to be raised by her many daddies or raise herself. In the end, her mother always came back and they would move to a new town to start a new life.

Maverick Sullivan

Maverick is Heath's younger brother and Anneliese's twin. He's a lovable funny guy that gets into a lot of trouble. He's single, and lives alone except for when he crashes at his brother's place.

Anneliese is Heath's only sister and Maverick's twin. She's married to her husband Collin and has three kids. She treats everything like she's their mother and tends to scold her brothers for their bad actions. She's sweet, loving and full of life.
