It's so weird listening to him go through all of the explanations. . . Just. . . weird. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be Detective Anti-Virus. It would just be surreal.
. . . Twenty-three. . . TWENTY-THREE!!!! *runs off to watch that movie*
Sorry, but you seriously could not have chosen a different number? A non-haunted one?
And don't think I missed Sam Adams. . . Silly.
"So you … you named the severed heads?"
"Only those three."
"OK." <--- That part made me giggle. Seriously. I know it shouldn't, but it did.
. . . You call Steve Paul, then Peter. . .
But that's the only mistake I spotted. . . And this was amazing. Brutal, but amazing. I bet Conán's got a good pout going at the moment, but I'm quite content with it.
You really would think, after everything that's happened, Mr. Virus Catcher would have more a connection to Conán. I mean, obviously he would want him put away and whatnot. But, the two have been through a lot together.
I really like that you included the humanizing of the victims. That's always been the most interesting theory to me. How, a serial killer will be less likely to attack you if you can create a human connection with them.
A little late to the catch here, but still. If it didn't stop him from killing them, it at least made him realize what he did.
Great chapter. I'm almost sad to see him getting in trouble for what he did though. . . XP
And the downward spiral hits its crescendo. Poor, crazy, serial killer.
Oh God, I feel bad for Naoise. Not only is she being attacked by a serial killer, which is pretty horrible in itself. The serial killer is the man she loves. . . That. . . That just sucks. I couldn't imagine being in her shoes. Torn between catching a serial killer and completely betraying someone you love, who only has you in life. . .Gah. Seriously, not cool!
Would they really send every day police officers to detain a serial killer? If they do, that would be scary being on that shift. "Hey, Bob, we gotta go pick this guy up." "Alright, who is it?" "A serial killer. Make sure you bring your cuffs so he can't kill us." "Right. Got 'em."
Anyway, this was so absolutely amazingly written. Seriously. I was on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out which way you would have this go.
Woah. This is still a story? XP hehe I had too, since you so neglected it the passed month.
I always find the relationship between Naoise and Conán almost adorably disturbing. Yes. I just made that connection.
But it is. It's like you get caught up in how devoted they seem to each other (in a realistic way anyway), and then you remember everything that's going on under the surface and it's a bit disturbing. No matter what happens, they'll be hurt in the end. It's almost like I want time to pause for them so that nothing happens.
But, where would the fun be in that? Nowhere. That's where.
She looked at him as though he wasn’t human. Conán would never forget the look. Those two sentences nearly broke my heart. So sad.
"Someone has issues!" THAT! . . . Made me giggle. :D
GASP! IT'S THE BOY THAT WAS MEAN TO HIM! *motherly tone* I'LL KILL 'IM!
Great chapter, dear! Very action packed at the end!
Gah! He's getting even more creepy! Someone needs to hit him with a rolled up newspaper.
McAfee is steadily getting less professional isn't he? I believe Conán could probably sue for that if he liked, which would ruin the entire investigation and make any leads they did have invalid. In fact, he's HELPING Conán. . . Silly anti-virus program.
Wish I could fake faint. . . That could come in soooo useful.
From what Naoise had told him of serial killers, he knew that he was a suspect because of his background and his personality. I love how he says that as if he's not a serial killer.
I have just spent the last few days catching up and I must say it was worth it. I'm very glad I found this because it is such an amazing read. I love Conan's relationship with 'Steve'; everytime he starts talking to him it makes me laugh :D Anyway, awesome stuff right here I am well and truly hooked and I can't wait to find out what happends next :)
I find myself worrying more and more about what will become on Naoise in the story, and I blame you. You got me too attached to her! Why do I get the feeling this story will have an ending that of Cosa?
Unless the murderer thinks that's pretty funny and moves away, leaving you with the burden and a similar spate of murders start up in England or America or somewhere? Even if that proved your innocence, you'd most likely still waste thirty years of your life behind bars. When I read that, I suddenly got this picture in my head of Conán getting arrested and Naoise moving away and starting to murder people where she goes to help prove his "innocence". XP Like they were talking in code.
Did I sense a bit of rambling about your favourite serial killer in this chapter? :D
Anyway, in case you didn't catch it by my tone, I loved this chapter as much as always.
