You are indeed a wonderful story writer! Your ideas fascinate me and this one is by far my favorite story of yours so far. Keep up the good work, really.
This story covers so much. In connection of finding that light in yourself, this subject matter also links to a strong, unbreakable bond between boy and father. This concept that their close bond has inspired the boy to move beyond life and be who he wants to be without a single shame in the world is beyond amazing. I need to use better vocab but I'm in class now so I really need to write down what is on my mind and it'll make more sense now than later.
I am touched by your ideas. Family is indeed very important & self discovery as well. I just never read much that deals with them both (combined). Then the boy's outlook on the others who died of cancer. Upon to the black parade they went to (kickass idea, may I add?) the boy feels a connection to his father so when he had cancer, there was no feeling of sadness & still hope, then he really feels this link/bond between others who have suffered death from cancer that he wants to feel for them and to connect to them. This black parade moved mountains and I've never thought anyone can ever pull this song off as well as you did

Sorry I commented so much on this one (hope I didn't annoy you with my pointless ramble)
