I can't believe there's no comment on this yet! The story was totally funny and sweet! I loved it.
I loved the character of Sadie and the way you introduced her by giving her thoughts on Valentine's Day. She kinda reminded me of Juno in the way that she was talking, with all these snarky remarks about the holiday. Especially the line about the "stand bys".
Her grandfather was great. So awesome. It makes me wish I had’ve known either one of my grandfathers because he sounded totally sweet. I loved when he gave her the presents while she was working and how he'd left the old folks home to come and see her.
I'm actually kind of glad she accepted Jason's invitation because it suggested that she hadn't completely given up on the holiday, and that was nice to read.
And even though it wasn't a part of the story, I really liked in the Author's Note how you based the grandfather part about something you saw in real life. Hearing what happened made me smile so much.
