Dear Agony - Comments

  • For starters, I apologize for the long wait in my judging this contest. But the judging is underway.

I love the whole basis of the story ā€“ writing a letter to an emotion that seemed to take control of your life. Seems like a good way to cope with that very emotion ā€“ to get over it. You have a very good use of similes and metaphors in this ā€“ good comparisons. Referring to this emotion as a real thing, as an actual being that is able to manipulate, is a brilliant concept. The way this is all put together is quite amazing. You can tell that this boy writing the letter really suffered from Agony itself and coping through the letter really helps him get his feelings out in a healthy way. Overall, Iā€™m amazed. A lot of people can seriously relate to this.

  • Was this based on the Breaking Benjamin song Dear Agony by any chance? Dunno, I just thought it related to it x] Anyhoo, I can really relate to Conor. I suffer from depression as well and everything about it - in this letter - seems so bleak. You can really tell that this thing is hurting him. This was extremely well-written as well. I enjoyed read it (:
    Lovely job, once again! <3

  • I loved how Agony was personified :) It made me really imagine Conor and Agony physically there when it was described

  • This is just amazing. The amount of detail, and the completeness with which you captured all of the feelings and thoughts. It was all absolutely amazing. You had me almost ready to jump up to try and save Conor myself in the middle there. XP

    Great. Really, very great.

  • In a strange way, I can relate to this so much. Only, in my case the letter would be introduced to

    Unforgivably Annoying Mystery Illness.

    o.O

I think I'll have to second abrokenstring. She's said everything I was going to tell you.

And... I love your name. The one in your About Me :) [/spam]

  • Wow. This is deep.

Not sad, though.... It's hopeful, victorious(: It's also very relateable. Too many people have fallen into Agony, but they don't have the strength to get out, they don't have the strength to beat it. For anyone who reads this, maybe it'll make them a little stronger(:

    Lovely. Simply, lovely.
