You read it and you never heard the song? I'm honoured!
Well, you should definitely give it a listen. Just go look it up on youtube, Polly by Nirvana.
If you give it a listen and read this again it'll gain a deeper meaning. ;D

I'm glad you liked it though.

    Wow, I'm just... wow. Amazing.
I caught every single song-referance in that story. Every little hint that it came from a song inspired by Nirvana.
I'm so glad you finished it after those years. A must-read.
That was absolutely brilliant. Swell job, my friend.

    Title, Summary, Layout:

To be honest, the title doesn’t really grab me. It’s not exactly boring, but still, not really attention-grabbing either. Regardless, it would certainly be enough for me to look at the shortened summary. I can understand the use of the title, though. The one thing I have to comment on, however, is that I’m happy that the title isn’t something along the lines of “Polly Gets Raped” or something equally obvious, do you know what I mean?

Anyways, I absolutely love the layout; it’s beautiful. Probably helps that my favourite colour is purple! The banner you used for it is absolutely eerie, but at the same time, completely suiting. I like how you included the lyrics of the song that inspired you. The words are very easy to read, which shows that the layout is perfect. I like how you used the font ‘Georgia,’ as it is my favourite for stories!

Chapter One (Well, the only chapter of the story…):

Within the first three paragraphs, I’m already completely intrigued. The detail is phenomenal, and I can imagine the scene perfectly in my brain. When I clicked to see how many comments you had, I’m not surprised to see how many you have already gotten. Not the point. Anyways, I sort of like how the kidnapper feels remorse. It’s almost as if I almost feel sympathy for him. It’s like he was so lonely he had to go to desperate measures in order to have some company. It’s the impression I get from the first few paragraphs, at least. I’m sure by the end I won’t be quite as sympathetic.

After the first paragraph, I read it all the way through because it sort of put me in a trance. It was horrifying to read, but at the same time fascinating. I loved the description, and you put an image in my head that I really didn’t need (I mean that in the best way possible). It seemed as if you had a clear picture in your head of what was happening, which is probably what made the whole story work. (It’s what I like when a song is inspiration.)

Overall, I found the whole story very detailed and well written. I don’t know what more I can say about it, so I’m sorry for such a short review. I found the main character absolutely terrible and disturbed, and throughout the whole story I couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like to be in her shoes and how pissed off but terrified I would be. I enjoy how the story ends, and I feel as if that if this happened to me, I’d do the exactly the same. I think it’s what is so appealing about this story – it’s very easy to relate to the girl.

I really enjoyed this story and it was amazingly written. It honestly ended differently than I thought it was going to be, although I guess that’s a good thing! I’m glad you posted the link to this on the reviews thread, for it was definitely a must-read. Good job!

It was excellent. I was completely happy when Polly got back at the man for all that he had put her through. :) You did excellent in showing the maddened thoughts of the man.

Chilling, love. I like how straight-forward this was - it adds to the creepiness and helps show how disturbed this man was, that this was how he probably thought and you know he didn't see it was wrong. On the same note, I'd advise the style to change slightly in paragraphs that you talk about how Polly feels, to show her panic. Two sides of a story would work well in this, I think. Or not. It'd be a good thing to experiment with.

Still, very good. I like. :)

I feel so dirty after reading that, as if the man was crawling across my skin and not hers.

The way this is written is just so amazing. The description is just so sightful and as a reader, we know exactly what is going on because you left no page unturned with it. The way you wrote it to be fair was just incredible; the correct use of words and just how deep it was; pure amazingness.

The ending was just, you know, wow. It was powerful, it was awesome and it made me grin because she’d gotten away from him even though in the end, she’d be left with the scars as reminders of how he was there…

I'm not a big Nirvana fan but, I really did enjoy this.
Seriously, it was just mind blowingly amazing.

Don't ever apologize for long comments. They're the best a person can hope for. *hug*

Thank you though! I was so so so worried I did too much or not enough. And also just worrying if I kept up the flow since it was written half in 07 and half now. I'm glad it seems that I was just a worry wart as always.

I'm glad you got that this was more of a character study than anything else. I always wondered about this guys side of the story from the second I heard the song (and understood it).

and tehe I've always been a whore for details.

Firstly, I would like to tell you what a gorgeous story this was. Well, it's probably an odd thing to say about it, and not what you were expecting, but it's the truth. I've always enjoyed stories that don't follow the typical pattern of teenage romance, stories that are more to deal with studies of human nature. Psychological pieces. I enjoyed that it was done from his point of view, and the variety of emotion you portrayed. Even though he had a twisted mind, he wasn't the cold-hearted sadistic sort of psychopathic person typical of such stories.

'Polly' was reasonably well developed. Of course, she wasn't the focus, the narrator, the voice of the story. There wasn't much background story to the characters, but the little you gave was enough to paint a reasonably good picture of who they were, how they came to be. It wasn't a story where you needed a whole of explanation; it was more of a snapshot of time. It was beautifully done, all of it.

Sorry I took so long to review; I read through it, three times. I wanted to take as much in as possible. It wasn't terribly graphic, but you got the point across. The torture, the rape, the death, it was all done very well. Ah, tastefully seems like the wrong word, but it's the best I can think of. Your writing style is lovely. Rather descriptive, but the attention to detail is excellent. It's the little things that really bring a story to life; the mention of the yellow bird, charred skin, crooked teeth. The entire feel of the story has a lovely, grungy sort of quality about it, quite fitting of a Nirvana song. I thought it was pretty good for having been started in '07. You're an excellent writer. Back then, I couldn't write for shit. xD

So, yeah, I enjoyed it. And once again, sorry for taking so long to review. And sorry for writing you an essay. xD

and yeah, this has been on the backburner for YEARS. I had the idea to write this watching Last Days for the first time and I just finally buckled down and finished it tonight.

I've noticed that stories that take the longest of time to write, and are mulled over and thought through, are the most intriguing pieces, and most interesting to read.
This is one of them. <3
The detail put into this is phenomenal, and I adore the plot of this so much.
He was a sick man, and got his just desserts at the end, even though he didn't think of what he was doing was wrong, and ignoring the guilt.
This is truly a masterpiece in the whole sense of the word.
    Beautiful. In Love
