Shadow Of A Doubt - Comments

  • Harper, this was amazing an amazing piece of literature; one that completely took me by surprise! I was absolutely baffled by your writing—there's so much beautiful imagery in this piece, and it's so very original and unique and captivating—I've never read anything like it before. I could just feel myself getting reeled into the story with each detailed sentence I read.

I loved the way the character thought of the world; how everything seemed beautiful to them. It makes me want to know more about the character, and it really makes me think, 'what the h*ell is a shadow, anyways?' Like colorful language said, it's very though-provoking.

All I have for criticism is suggesting you fix the miss-spacing of your paragraphs, check over your work once more [I spotted one or two spelling and punctuation mistakes], and perhaps get someone to make you an original layout for this story.

All in all, a beautifully written story. You did a wonderful job on it.

  • Wow. First, I absolutely love the idea. It's so original and unique and engaging because it's so original and it's very thought-provoking. Me and my friend have always wondered what the f*ck a shadow is, and we had a really long conversation about them once and this whole one-shot reminded me of that. In that way, it was very relateable, in a weird sense haha.

Second your writing is breathtaking. My eyes were glued to every word. Your word choices flowed beautifully, and there were moments where I just stared at one line because it made me think about what you were trying to say, what the words meant beyond what they said on the screen. This was wonderful.

I'd have to say the one think I did not like was the layout. I'm not a fan of the pre-made layouts, I prefer original ones with banners that fit the stories and such. But the story itself was absolutely fantastic. Great, great job.

  • Oh, the imagery! The wonderful, amazing, beautiful imagery! Seriously, I could see everything so well. I could nearly hear the cityscape around the characters of the story. And the way that the characters are describing something that is beautiful to them, but what they're doing would really be creating chaos. Absolutely magnificent.

I think, and I am beginning to get a bit repetitive now, that if it weren't for the misspacing with the paragraphs in this, I would adore it. Seriously. I loved every single sentence. When I started this comment, I was thinking about pointing out some sentences I especially liked, but I couldn't choose one! Absolutely amazing.

Just do your paragraphs some justice. Make them pretty.
