A nice short sweet story :) I liked the puppy gift since it was something different. Although it was a typical proposal scene (which I have read heaps for this contest), the speech he gave was nice and they seemed like a really good couple together. It also seemed like something that would happen in reality, which some writers aren't good at writing about, so it's good to see you can. Good job :)
