  • I read this and justboh Lordy I wish you'd update on this one too
The characters are so real and nice and like any run of the mill people you'd meet at school
Not some complete oddball you know only exist in books
    Oh and the first chapter!
Don't get me started on thsfirst chapter!
It's really a fantastic intro into the life of Fynn and why he is the way he is
    It's just amazing
By the way you described Sunnie I would have never thoughtnor guessed she was rich
She seems so normal and just laid back and chill
I think I'd just faint at an Irish accent
    Dear Lordy I'd just ugh
    Anywho
And another think I've noticed from read 3 of your stories
    The virgin conundrum
Why is it amusing to read? I don't know
But you're an amazing writer and this rambling comment is coming to an end
    Stay golden, Anahy
P.S. I apologize in advance for any typo

  • Ahh, so I decided to read some of your other stories. Besides Punch Me, I'd Bleed. And have fallen in love.
I just, don't even know where to start. This whole thing is just magnificent. :D
This is why you are pretty much my favorite author on here.
I hope you get to update soon.

  • I’m sorry for the long wait, but life’s hectic. Exams coming up and me being a professional postpone and such.
There are so many overly known situations in the third chapter that I can visualize straight away. Like how when someone tells you about a person 'who would be perfect for you' you see them in another way.

Or the fag hags. I don't get why everyone wants a gay best friend these days but I wouldn't mine a friend like Fynn. He's a funny guy, relativistic and yet so easily engrossed in things. But isn't he hiding a part of himself behind that typical happiness. Like he's pretty melancholic and lonely but he just doesn't show it very much.

It's also nice how you can show the everyday problems gays in high school encounter without overdoing it and letting him continuously cry about it. He's gay and he prefers being a social outcast with a few friends to being someone he's not. End of the story. No whining, crying, bitching like only girls can.

->You know, I wonder, what exactly would happen if they caught me watching them (and, like, obviously watching with interest) and they beat me up a little and a teacher got involved. Like, would they get in trouble for beating up a gay kid because he's gay, or would I get in trouble for looking at them when they were naked? What are the rules for that?
This actually made me wonder. What would happen? Probably depends on how homophobe the principal/teacher is.

I think Ursula and the twins would have a good time if they met. They're all sociopaths and all calculated.

->I smiled and wondered if this was how the alpha male of a gorilla family felt.
His thoughts sometimes... If he would voice all those thoughts out loud he'd be put into an institute for the mentally unstable.

What I really want to know however, does Hamish have like an older brother who's a few years older? 'Cause that'd be perfect for me. :D Reading the conversation I might have kinda fallen a bit for him. No serious, he's really nice. Sweet and social and laid back and when he enters the room he probably has everyone staring but doesn't realize it.

You got me all curious about what the tattoo means. Hm, I'm not good with patience...
Also I kinda expected Hamish to have known Fynn was gay all along, but then he comes with the crazy assumption of Alice and Ursula liking him in a boyfriend way. To quote someone in the Hannibal series (I'm not really sure anymore who it was and if it was in Hannibal): When you ass-u-me something you make an ass out of you and me. Well, that's the case here.
Fynn's answer does exact the same to be honest. 'They were just admiring my hair'... Really? That doesn't sound lame at all.

I've also found the first writing mistake. I checked the other 2 stories but to no avail. I'm feeling quite accomplished that I've found one. You've written mane as 'main'. Just saying.

  • As promised; the comment on chapter 2. Tadaa!

First of all, Sunnie is one lucky bitch being so funny. There's no way anyone would tolerate her constant complaining if she wasn't. But she is, so she had me laughing out loud. She is exactly like Fynn tells us she is without spoiling the story or giving the reader the idea that you know all there is to her. He's just stating a fact, ‘cause she certainly is obnoxious.

Fynn and Sunnie are both pretty hair obsessed too. They're both a bit of jerks to each other really, both wanting all the attention, but for some reason they pull it off really well. And getting peanut butter out with gum?! Just wash your hair ten times... Like Fynn says ‘For a reasonably smart girl she can be totally off the mark about some things.’

I hate boys... I hate kids!! Love that part. Finally someone who isn't a miracle worker with kids and who for once doesn't think they're so cute and lovely. Sunnie seems to me the girl who'll throw a kid under a bus simply because it stands in her way.

It's also funny how there's always an awkward conversation whenever she brings up that he's gay in such words or whenever she starts to expect the stereotypical things. To me it seems like he is somewhat annoyed by it, but only tells her that because she's his best friend and lets others call him whatever. Yet he knows from the start that he doesn't really mind and will always forgive her, so it's more or less a bit of a game. It just sounds like true friendship, with awkwardness and predicting what the other will do and overexagerating. The conversations are overall amazing, while reading it I could just hear them saying it all in my head.

To make her even more awesome she's got anger issues. This girl can't get any better xp.

And they're both a bit pathetic but in the right way. You're not making them Mary Sue and whatever her male counterpart is called. They are embarrassing and they fuck up and they get awkward.

->Since she's my total bff and this was getting super embarrassing..
I don't think anyone can say this without sounding gay and it's funny how he doesn't mind being looked upon as the typical gay guy by the girls.
He jokes about it without overdoing it - well the 2 of them have a good sense of humor, I simply can't resist it. Also Fynn doesn't get beaten up for it by everyone. Maybe that's reality in America but in good ol' Belgium that doesn't happen much. In high school most straight guys kind of steered away from the gay ones, but well, no one was expecting them to sit with the girls and gay boys and discuss clothes.

Now onto Hamish. A popular guy who isn't a jerk! Big Shocker! Can you tell I hate the stupid clichés? Really? And a future gay that's masculine, while the other isn't a cross-dressing midget who wears bright clothes and has a high-pitched voice :o
Damn, I was just rereading the part where Fynn looks at Hamish more closely and he is, in fact dressed in bright blue and yellow... Oh well, he's still very much a man.

Did you seriously know a kid named Hamish Olding? I'm always scared to know names of people I know irl in my stories. Not like I would anyway, they sound way too Dutch.

  • First of all I love how you don't follow all the typical Mibba clichés. Not that I don't like clichés, most of them are used that often because they work. The ones I referred to don't (e.g. Fynn doesn't for some strange reason dream about Hamish and has a weird 'connection' with him.) Off course not, Fynn has his own image of the perfect guy and like with most real people that image is pretty unrealistic. Small chance to ever meet someone like that.

The way Fynn thinks/rants about everything is hilarious. You can see he's partly serious and sometimes it's a bit sad, but that never keeps you from laughing.
->So, of course, since I had some control over what my dream self did and I was dreaming about him, I had dream-Fynn making out with him. Hardcore. I mean with tongue and ripping open shirts, the whole nine freaking yards. God I am such a horny virgin; I use these intense dreams to relieve all that sexual tension that's been building up inside me. And from what I've heard, that isn't a strictly gay thing: horny virgin heterosexuals do it too.

Next: the twins. Seriously, such a couple of annoying, egoistic monkeys. Pissing on the walls.. who with their right mind would ever do that?! Which once again proves they're not human (alien androids?) or at least not normal. I'm also relieved that their mom doesn't praise them all the time in the style of 'aren't they little angels ... they're so perfect ... look how wel X has done that... And the threat; love it. Though I do think Fynn was even more engrossed by the idea than the twins.
For some reason I also love the words 'midget sociopath', maybe because I always encouraged the lion to kill the rabbit when I watched national geographic as a kid. I turned out not too crazy so there's still a bit of hope for Josiah and Jeremiah. :D Talking about their names; there's no doubt about their mum being high when she named them like that.

Which leads us to the Ultra Bitch, sounds a bit like the evil guy in an old power rangers episode, doesn't it? She's like as bad as she can get without getting send to jail for it. She makes me wanna scream to her 'It are your kids, clean their piss yourself, damn woman!' But it's not like she can hear me. Also, this:

->I turned around and she was holding my apple. She looked over my body trying to find somewhere to put it and then her eyes lit up. She leaned over and stuck the apple in my mouth like I was a suckling pig.

It's so easy to see the picture of how he stands there, hands full, mouth wide open with a bright red apple in it, twins next to him, laughing their asses off...

Also, can't the Ultra Bitch read? I'm pretty sure Fynn's birth certificate says Fynn, not Fynnigan. But well, she did name her own kids Jeremiah and Josiah.

The fact that he got the twins back with yelling that about telling the teacher if they needed to go to the 'potty' just had cracking up. I really hope he won't be in too much trouble for that though.

So basically I loved the first chapter. Your characters are very much real, all with their own quirks and flaws. The entire outline is very original and you can actually spell :o
I was really disappointed this didn't have more comments to be honest. It's the best I've read on Mibba since Palliser finished Spring Back. (If you haven't read that yet, you should. It's great.)

So I decided to make it my mission to give detailed comments... et voila ^. I'll probably post the comment about the second chapter tonight as well.

  • Nice update :)

I love the slightly awkward conversation that they had, and the fact that he almost couldn't understand Hamish's sentence because of his accent. I do love the Scottish accent, it reminds me of a holiday I was on when I was in Spain and my family got lost when we were on the bus and missed our stop. We didn't know that there were also these Scottish people trying to get to the same place as us and they turned to us and said "Trust the English to get us lost!" aha.

Right, anyway, I liked the update, it was good :)

  • Hahahahahahahahahaha he's so awkward. I'm imagining him like a non-red haired, gay Ron from Harry Potter. All gangly and awkward. I like Hamish. A lot of... Irish/Scottish people make jokes about how they can say anything they want and no one cares because the accent is so awesome and 'cute.'

"I don't care if girls want to be my friend because I'm gay. Bring it on, I say, the more the merrier. They expect me to act a certain way, sure, but sometimes it is kinda fun to play it up and watch their eyes sparkle at how awesome they are because they know me, their fabulous gay friend. Fabulous."

I've heard a lot of gay people call those types - the girls who hang out with gay people because their gay - Fag Hags. Which is pretty hilarious.
