I adore your use of adjectives and adverbs. You have obviously chosen your vocabulary very carefully, and you create just the right atmosphere and effect without being cheesy and cliché.One of my favourites was probably "I've always wanted to go there in the wintertime, with the snow falling in furious flurries and those quirky Canadians speaking in frozen, sharp-tongued French."
I got a very cold feeling in myself at that sentence, the the one which follows. You make the reader slightly doubt the virtue or your narrator, which I loved. even at the end of the chapter, I still feel uncertain over how nice a person she really is, and I look forward to reading more and finding out whether I was right or wrong.
