To Cover Me in Snow - Comments

  • Hi, first I want to say sorry for the delay on getting you your comment. I was completely swamped with work and phased out for a bit (I also had some minor computer troubles, but don't I always). But now I'm getting into the swing of things again and finally getting things done :)

I want to start off with saying that this had length without being too long; I, personally, always find it hard to find that midway point, but you did it. It was engaging, so it kept me interested, and it was funny. I chuckled a few times (thankfully, by now my mom doesn't question what goes on in my room). I love how lighthearted this fic is, especially when you think of what Twiggy and Marilyn look like – I know, stereotyping, but even the best people do it. I really really love how you kept Marilyn against helping, but slowly giving in. There was no sudden jump of personality and it really showed how he was doing it out of love for Twiggy; the end also got me as well. I'm so in love with the [slightly] soft moment between them. I was a little disappointed there was no layout, always a fan of what you make – this is actually my first time reading something of yours, but I've come across a few of your stories in the past. I also felt that some of the sentences, even when their talking, is a little sharp/forced, I think it might be because some of the sentences are short? There were places were commas could have sat instead of periods. But where I saw those things, it was really a matter of writer preference. Overall, it was a great story and I'm glad I got to read it :).

Good luck and, again, so sorry about the wait for my comment.

  • First off, I'd like to thank you for entering this in my contest as well, and I'm sorry that it took me so long to judge this piece. Right off the bat, I loved the idea; I've never read Twiggy and Marilyn before but after reading your other story, I'm certain that you'll make it incredibly sweet. The layout was adorable as well. [And I thought I should tell you that Angel With The Scabbed Wings just came on my iTunes. Fate!]

I'm not sure why I found this so great but I loved how you mentioned that Marilyn wasn't wearing makeup or contacts. I think that just made everything so much more down-to-earth, if that makes sense. :) I absolutely adored their relationship as well; they bickered about everything but it's almost like a married couple. :)

Overall, I thought that this was so, so cute. You did a great job at writing the relationship between the two of them; it seemed so authentic and I just loved the description of them making the snowman. So, so cute. Thank you for entering this in my contest! :D

  • I love the layout! The banner is cute. :D

Twiggy and Marilyn's relationship is so weird, ahah. But that's a good thing.

I really enjoyed this story! It was written so well, like opposites attract. :D Great job! :)

  • First; Good Layout; Matched the story really well.
Second; Few errors here and there. But it’s over looked because there were so few and scattered about that I couldn’t find ‘em when I re-read the passage again.
Third; Weird relationship between Twiggy and Marilyn

Oh my goodness. This is so funny. Like, seriously. I can relate to this story because I’m exactly like Marilyn when it comes to December (Except I live in southern Texas and the most we get is frost). And Twiggy is so funny. Such lively characters. To be honest, this is a really great story. Really great. Their relationship puzzled me at first, but as it progressed I understood it. Looks like there is a romantic bone in Marilyn/Mason’s body! These two are too perfect. They make Fire and Water go together like cheese and macaroni. I like it too. I wasn’t expecting an entry quite like this. Amazing writing.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
    ♥Matt
