In Memoriam - Comments

  • Wow, this was so raw. So simple, but so pretty. It flowed like a poem as I read. Well done.

  • I myself don't know of the situation, but this is truly beautiful. This is a beautiful memory and memorial given to those who did die. I like that you wrote it simply. I think that if you had tried to expand it and make it more elaborate for fancy you would have taken away from its beauty.

  • The word 'memoriam' looks so weird to me right now. I feel like that's not right but it is. It just looks so damn weird. I agree with Audrey. I'm curious--is this a true story? Because I fail at all things news related so I would've never heard about this. I like the emotion put into it and the way this character feels about these strangers. I don't know what to really say besides that. It's a great piece.

  • I thought this was really touching. I like how straightforward it was, voicing thoughts that have crossed the minds of a lot of people in the aftermath of this tragedy. I really like that you place so much focus on this young girl, which is something that's been bothering me about recent media coverage (they focus on the woman who survived so much because she has a role in government and seem to push aside the fact that a child - and several others - died that day). I think a lot of people share your feelings on this and it was nice to see it put into words.
